Promoting the child's right to play in Scotland and around the world
Background to IPA

IPA Scotland is a branch of the International Play Association, which has members throughout the world. IPA works to protect, preserve and promote the child's right to play as a fundamental human right. Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states "that every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts." IPA Scotland has an associated charitable trust - the PlayRight Scotland Trust - which raises and distributes funds in Scotland in order to promote IPA's interests and activities. Find out more at www.ipascotland.org.uk Previously funded events have included seminars, exchanges or workshops which promote play and support those working to provide play opportunities.
